Timeline

The timeline is used to position items at certain points in time using frames. A frame sets the position, angle, opacity and visibility. To make the animation smooth, the software will the calculate the positions of items between each frame. For example, when the time is 12, frame 12 will be shown. When the time is 12.5, the software will calculate the position of any items as half way between the frames 12 and 13. The timeline can be turned off for an individual item and JavaScipt can be used to control it instead. When the timeline is not used, only one initial frame is allowed.

Layers

There may be many items in your timeline so layers are used to organize them, like folders. You can expand, collapse, reorder and lock each layer to make your timeline less cluttered.

Layers 1

Script

Place script directly in the timeline by adding frames to the script line. The script will run every time that frame is shown.

Frames 3

The numbers are the frame numbers, there are twelve key frames in a second. The red line is the current time shown in the editor. A dot or a square is a key frame. A dot is a frame which transitions, a square is a frame which does not. A dot or square with blue round it is the current selected frame. A hollow dot or square is an invisible frame. A solid line between frames shows a transition, a dotted line shows there is no transition. Double click in the timeline to add or remove a new key frame.
